delighted to hear you've at last found something that helps!

out of interest, which particular model did you go for? and are they prescription, or just plain glass? (I should just go and look at the site, shouldn't I?)

    best wishes

Hi All, Im back having a poor time with my over 40 yrs of dry eye, really getting me down as its getting worse.

Cant talk at the mo but im very interested in a moisture retaining pair of smart sunglasses but will need to wear them for most of the year.

Ive looked up the above Adidas evil eye can some one tell me if the padding is all the way around the eye?? The pics on the sites dont show it very well.

Do like them wouldnt be bad wearing those,if they worked a bit would be much better than im having now!

Sorry have had a really rough year and xmas with my dry eye and it really is getting me down and i suppose im feeling sorry for myself, has changed my life for the worst.

Can anyone tell me about those Adidas glasses please.

                    Rich. Cambridge UK

Locky, good call mate have just ordered 2 pairs, one clear lens Black n white frame and one pair smoke lens with black n blue frame.

At £35 for 2 pairs seems a bargain,if they are good and do help with dry eye then i will think about getting a seroius pair /s, must admit do like the Adidas climacool but at £119+ iwill see how i get on with these cheap ones first.

                      www.i-sunglasses.com

Took the dogs for a early walk today, even with wrap around sunglasses i was very uncomfortable in the bitter cold wind here in the UK today and have since suffered all day with very bad stinging , sore eyes so i look forward to the glasses to arrive and trying them out.

Must admit they do look smart? soon see.

                      Rich.

                        Hi Rich

I've got a pair of the Adidas Climacool glasses, with prescription inserts, and have to say that although they look much smarter than the fit-over goggles (cheapos) I've been using, they are not as protective.

The foam round the edge fits close the the face OK, but there are air vents (albeit small ones) all the way around to prevent fogging. So if there is more than a slight breeze, you can still feel the air on your eyes.

In this weather I certainly haven't been able to use them - had to go back to the old fit-overs which make a much more protective seal. They are bigger, uglier, and more obvious, but they at least keep the cold out - and frankly, I've reached the stage where I just don't care about appearances any more...

The Adidas are OK for use indoors (aircon, heating etc) but outside not an awful lot of help.

In your place, I'd give the ones you've bought a good try first.

                        Good luck.

p.s. I know what you mean about feeling sorry for yourself...I'm just glad Christmas and all the fuss is over because it just makes you feel worse.

                          Eva hi;

Well over 40yrs of dry eye done all the drops ,the creams, the diets, omegas, hypnotism, acupunture, blood tests, food tests, night masks, cleaning blah blah blah!!

And getting worse only bad days or very bad days now, constant stinging watering redness soreness every waking hour 7 days a week even sleeping hours not good!

And as you say Xmas, what is that all about especially this year been so cold out and about so that means central heating and that means even more dry eye!

Still back to work tomorrow, outside in the cold (self employed landscaper/ builder) just cant win!!

This year 08 has definately been my worse ever.

Sorry feeling sorry for my self again but well over 40yrs, well you know.just grinds you down and well give up going out or socialising now

Given up totally now with UK eye doctors for good " Ive prescribed you some drops, come back in say 6months.Now run along. Next!! "

You people on this forum are great and its good not to be alone with dry eye.

                          many thanks.

                            Hi Rich,

just wanted to send you a great big comforting hug!

I've only (ONLY....ha ha) had this for 2 years, and it has already had a huge impact on my life in terms of working (can't any more) and socialising, so can only imagine what 40 years of it must be like.

And your occupation is not exactly conducive, is it?

anyway, remember we're always here for you

                            Eva

(and that goes for you, my friend Locky, as well)

Well my cheapo ones arrived a few days ago only used them this morning whilst out again walking the dogs very cold wind again, they were alright possibly need a bigger face then because still some gaps underneath slightly annoying but not a total waste possibly saved 60+% of the wind!

The darkish tint pair you can hardly notice the padding but the clear pair, freaky will make people think your weird im afraid.

But at £17 ish inc postage well worth having about.

Still going to look for others, really need the best wrap arounds goin to have a look on internett again.
