  • Honestly, dry eye isn't that much of a problem

I came close to throwing up:

A little Restasis here a bit of a plugging there. What's the big deal with all of us?
Dysfunctional Tear Syndrome ("Dry Eye Disease") is a bane of modern society.

Gee whiz, I'm so glad it's so simple to treat dry eye. Who knew?

I might be missing something, but I did not get the same impression as both of you did. My only beef is that they did not include more causes of DES, like Lasik and hormonal associated with perimenopause. I suppose they could have gotten deeper into how debilitating it can be, but it was clear they were focusing on computers/environmental causes of DES and for that I think the story was appropriate. No need to go into other treatments if that is not the focus of the story. Consider the source.
Every day with DES is like a box of chocolates...You never know what you're going to get.

extreme cases- she cant put in her contacts- thats the biggest problem... ok then

yes plugging and restasis- both great for lachrymal deficiency not so great for MGD.

But im glad theres some more media on it.

        heres another vid.

All this mention of technology and never a mention of contacts lenses, it seems like the eye world try to cover that one up imo.

If not being able to put in your contacts is considered extreme....then what are the people on this board considered to be? Psychotic?? This lack of validation from others and docs that dry eyes can be extremely painful and debilitating makes me just want to give up. ARGH.

I know, just watched a load of vids on youtube. And even though its good for awareness, half of them make it sound like an easy problem to treat, with A tears, plugs or restasis.

Maybe it is for the milder patients.
