allergies-how do you know if it is

hi everyone

well ive been trying to do my own research about my dry eye as every eye doc ive seen is like no help at all and so ive been trying to read up on things on here and hear about allergies but is there anyway of knowing if it is an allergy and how do you get tested for it as my doctor said i cant be but im not convinced.
only because i read an article on here about the millions of particles in the air that could iritate your eyes and well im trying to narrow what it could be down.

any help would be really apreciated

The best way is to get tested for allergies. I have had the skin scratch test twice, not my favorite thing to do but at least I now know what to avoid. After the test, I had a discussion with my allergist about my eye issues. He felt getting my nasal allergies under control would likely help my eye problems as well. He was right. So far I feel I do not need to get allergy shots, but I have been told they are very effective.

If your eyes are itching, there is a high probability that allergies are at least partly involved.

well ive tracked down someone in manchester but he said hes never had anyone in with dry eye so it will be more like an experiment than anything as he doubts it will help but wants to try just incase,so im not very confident now that it could be allergy,they only itch sometimes not all the time but when im in my room i think they get worse may be from dust but i could just be guessing now,thinking i should get a humidifier/air purifier but ight have to aliminate allergies by getting the tests done.
