  • What is your ONE favourite dry eye product or technique?

    I have had dry eyes for 16 years now...and I must have tried 100 different products and treatments.. eyedrops, lidscrubs, sprays, fish oils, flaxseed oils, heating lids, masks and all sorts of weird and wonderful diets etc.

    However the product which I feel that I benefit mostly from is Sterilid eye foam.

    I have not been using any dry eye products for the past 12 months or so..other than the odd Refresh eyedrop ...However I started on Sterilid again about a month ago. I had previously used it before in conjunction with fish oil, lid wipes, eyedrops, nighttime masks etc. I did feel a decent month or so at that time..but i did not know which product was helping. I then started a lot of air travel with my job and my eyes were terrible and I just stopped everything....in exasperation.

    However I have started on Sterilid this past month and nothing else..and my eyes do seem to be as they were before ...much fresher and less inflamed. Its early days yet and I have been working at home (with my lovely wrap around sunglasses) a lot and not really in testing conditions..but it seems to have more effect than any other single product (apart from my glassses of course).

    So the question is... which product/technique do you think helps your symptoms more than any other. For me it is;

    1. Sunglasses
    2. Sterilid

    Just curious what my fellow dry eyers out there ...feel that they benefit from the most. I appreciate that we all have different symptoms and causes..but it would be interesting to read.

    For me it would definitely be my Systane Ultra eye drops. They have really made a difference and almost always give me fast results.

    Another product I also really like is Flax oil. I stopped taking it for a week and I could feel the difference. With these 2 things in combination I feel close to normal again!

      Googles
      Genteal Gel

      Lotamex...big gun only to be used when really really needed

      Diet

      Dwelle, warm compresses.

      If my house was on fire I would grab them in the above order...but all if possible

            Panoptyx Goggles in car when air or heat is on.
            Plano glasses at work in the afternoon when dryness may begin
            Genteal Gel (only to sleep)

            Lately I have been using only these 3 products in an effort to see what will happen if I simplify my routine.

            So far so good, things seem to feel the same.

                Just drops -- I'm nine years post-Lasik, having been previously bottom-plugged for dry eyes associated with aging:
                (a) best for me, "Dr. Holly's drops" -- Dakrina (at night) and NutraTear (by day);
                (b) if they are not available, then over-the-counter TheraTears Lubricant Eye Drops in individual vials (not a bottle).

                  Dwelle and occusoft which I use about 4 times a week.

                  I've discovered lid scrubs make me WORSE and so just use occusoft if I need to get tear gunk off my eyelids
                  just keep swimming...
