    Looking for a specific statics

    Good morning from Buenos Aires,Argentina.

I´ve been working for a company that provides devices for ocular surgery.
Lachrymal system diseases is one of the specialties covered by our products line.

In order to develop new strategies to fight against dry eye, we are gathering all the information we can.

In that sense , I remember have heard from one practitioner in USA ,something like ..." there was a study carried out in USA that concluded that a large
percentage of the patients changes its ophthalmologist when the
practitioner can not solve the dry eye. According to this research, a
patient does not change its ophthalmologist because of unsolved glaucoma
nor unsolved retinal disease, but often , patients use to change because
of the unsolved dry eye disorders...."

I never found the source of this statement ,never found the research , study...but it was a very interesting statement.

I was wondering if maybe any of the people in this forum have heard about this.

I do not know if this is the right place where to ask for this kind of help , I apologize if it´s not.

I will appreciate any comments you may have.

I don't remember seeing something like that. Do you have any idea when it might have been published? And you're quite sure it was a study, not just a survey of some kind?

I did a bit of searching but didn't find anything yet. You might want to post the question in Dr. Latkany's forum, he would probably remember seeing a study like this.

        Dry Eye statistics

        Dear Rebecca : Good point...!!
I´m quite sure that the word used by this practitioner was study.....but "study" is used in Spanish when you want to mean trial , survey , research....it´s too comprehensive.

I´ll re-send this inquire to Dr. Latkany's forum as you suggest.

        Thanks for your help.
