  • IOVS publishes first global consensus report on MGD

    http://www.iovs.org/content/52/4.toc

I'll admit I haven't read much of this yet as my eyes are misbehaving today, but I thought people might like the chance to read through it. It's nice (and unusual!) to see such a concentrated body of work on MGD.

Aplogies if this has already been posted!

    A great read....

"There are rare occasions in a field of science when significant
advances occur in leaps and bounds, rather than in
small, deliberate steps. This moment is imminent in the field of
meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD)—and therefore in dry
eye disease. The goals of the International Workshop on Meibomian
Gland Dysfunction were twofold: first, to develop a
consensus understanding of the meibomian gland in health and
disease; second, to disseminate the knowledge broadly to further
    the field..."

I just logged in to tell everyone about the new International Workshop on Meibomian Gland Dysfunction. It just came out yesterday, but I guess someone else already knew about it.

It is a special issue of Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences devoted completely to MGD. It is really nice to see so much attention from experts for this condition. I find every word of the issue interesting, but it is probably only good reading for those who have been researching MGD for awhile or are physicians, etc.

If you go to the library of your local medical university, these links below will likely get you free access to the online content:

I hope we find out new solutions to our condition and I hope we can discuss this special issue!
