  • possibly historic documentation of high oncotic pressure drop use in veterinary case

Friends, here, who know of my passion for Dr. Holly's high oncotic pressure drops will not be surprised to learn that I shall not have gone to my grave before making sure that animals get the benefit of these drops.

One of my dogs developed degenerative keratopathy a few months ago, as a result of which one of his eyes formed a deeply divoted corneal ulcer. Several months of treatment with topical antibiotics (multiple types), and a week or so on canine serum drops (not autologous; from donor dog) did not produce significant change, and so my veterinary ophthalmologist agreed to a trial of Dwelle.

Two weeks on nothing but Dwelle (only once or twice daily) and the ulcer healed over fully. The vet's final Progress Note read "Rx: None. You may use Dwelle eye drops in both eyes twice daily to help keep the corneal surface more healthy." My internal medicine vet followed the case closely, and is now intrigued.

Hyaluronic products are beginning to grow popular in veterinary ophthalmology, but perhaps now, high oncotic pressure drops will also make their way into our very deserving companion animals' ailing eyes... In my home, my doggy and I are currently sharing the same vial of Dwelle. . .Washing the dried Dwelle residue from his facial fur is my next challenge. . .
