  • I can't get a break. Ringworm.

I really need to figure out what is going on here. The other day I woke up with ringworm on my leg. I've never had it before and I know it's fungal. I'm using ketaconzole cream and I'm sure it will go away but where did I get it from in the first place? The doctor who prescribed me the cream said my cat. The thing is, I also think what I have on my scalp is fungal but I've been using Nizoral for 2 weeks to no avail. The scalp issues started off as just minor dandruff, around the same time I developed the eye problems. I now have what look like red sores or pimples. You can't see them unless you search for them but they have no doubt multiplied within the last few months.

I read this interesting article: http://rantery.awardspace.com/mold-b...hair-loss.html and it says that Fungal infections result in patchy hair loss, unlike hair loss caused by mold allergies which would generally be diffuse. The patches begin as a pimple or small sore, before turning into a red, itchy and flaky patch where the hair breaks or falls out. The scalp can become inflamed and tender and the skin might peel or scale.

I'm wondering if what I have on my scalp is actually ringworm? My scalp/sinus/eye problems all started at the same time. I did get a positive "heavy growth of staph aeurus" culture last month, treated with avelox...but I'm sure you can have fungal and bacterial infections at the same time. I'm wondering if anyone can help me shed some light on this? I'm of course going to search through the forums for fungal related blepharitis, but any thoughts/help would be appreciated.!!

My mom has that....does that tell me anything? Can nail fungus create fungal problems on other parts of the body? I've definitely laid on her sheets and whatnot.

Tea tree shampoo and a gentle loofah cleared LM's Tinea Versicolor (Malassezia furfur) from hairline and upper back, and we always use tea tree soap in the bath/shower to discourage any further interest. Asking around, fungal overgrowths like sebum (lipophilic). My theory is if you've used anti-fungal shampoo in the shower it's been near enough to the eyes anyway. Your mum's fungal nail infection is so fixable OTC!
