    Mario,

If you had corneal perforation, you would be in serious pain and the health of your cornea would be severely compromised.

I suspect what he was trying to say that there were very small epithelial erosions on the surface of your cornea which cause discomfort: old term SPK for superficial punctate keratopathy or the newer term PEE for punctate epithelial erosion.

I would call the optician you saw to confirm that indeed he did not suspect an actual perforation. If he did indeed mean perforation and did not refer you to a corneal specialist... well let's just say that's really not good. Call him back to confirm.

Thanks rebecca and dr matter Sorry for the late reply...

I went to another local dedicated optometrist and they said It wasn't corneal perforation just erosion ..it was a ridiculous misdiagnosis by a asda or walmart optician!

It was confirmed again that I had MGD and mild blepharitis and they prescribed me viscotears which I use sometimes..is it normal suffer from bloodshot eyes at the corners of the eye and a slight gritty feeling after using viscotears.

Also can you recommend a decent lid hygiene regimen..the one I'm doing now is night and I use a folded wet wipe in hot water and apply to eyes for 5 mins per eye and then use cotton buds to express the glands and then use baby shampoo to clean them.

One more thing can this gritty red eye feeling damage your eyes ?

      Thanks

      Mario
