Hi, I just had another corneal abrasion, and the Doc put a bandaid contact on my eye, I've never worn contacts, although I wear glasses, my goodness it was fantastic, my eye felt moister and no irritation, so when I saw the dr. Again after wearing it for four days, I really didn't want him to take it out, he said oddly most with dry eyes can't tolerate contacts, but in my case it seems to be of help to me. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm going to have a contact fitting appointment with my optometrist. Just really curious if this is common? Kinda worried when you hear about people having corneal erosion and ulcers, or infections.

You might want to check some of the posts made by 'rubyslippers'. It appears that she found dry eye relief in Synergeyes contacts, which consist of a hard gas permeable centre lens attached to a soft lens material 'skirt'.

Thanks you guys, very helpful, and hopeful, so weird I have the contacts now, got them yesterday, one is a torque lens, so that one felt a bit weird at first but I'm getting use to it now. I'm still dropping just maybe not so often, tomorrow is the big challenge as I go to work, and my eyes are always worse at work. After all the years of hearing that contacts dry peoples eyes out, it's weird that I'm using them for the first time to help with my dry eyes. I'm just praying that I get some help here soon, as we all know this can be quite depressing at times. Thanks again for steering me to the posts and study.Comment
