  • Why not make some t-shirt campaigns or etc?

I guess we all want to fight for dry eye but how? Since in America its so prevalent why not make polos or t shirts like these,

Just an idea btw, this is an amateur custom polo I drew haha

It's an idea worth considering. The only problem is "dry eyes" has always been trivialized. We see plenty of campaigns and shirts with "Fight for Cancer", etc and "fight for eye dryness" besides the more life threatening illnesses may look insignificant.

Agreed. For most people, dry eye really is a trivial problem... it's not very common for it to be bad like it is for most of us here - the general population would probably think such a T-shirt was joke or something.

This is chronic treatable eye inflammation Maybe have a look at uveitis awareness campaigning and international research base uveitis foundation.

We have the same problem, especially paediatric, with:

        - intracranial hypertension http://www.iih.org.uk/ http://www.ihrfoundation.org/

        - rosacea

        - chronic blepharitis

Time and again we see docs who do not recognise the conditions or rate them as serious or think it's their job to look at the connections. They turn children away or fail to monitor or manage and they lose their sight from neglect (currently 15% treatable sight loss in UK for IH).

Sorry. Time for whinge, I feel.

I think people would reconsider the T-shirt campaign as not being a serious issue if they were also informed of how 'dry eyes' can lead to partial or total blindness due to damage to the eyes surface, corneal damage, vision alterations such as fluctuating vision, floaters large enough or vast in number to affect seeing etc. I agree some may have eye issues that dont impact their lives much, but too many have eye issues which can completely disable them and leave them in chronic pain and affect daily life and quality and such circumstances should be brought to the publics attention.
