  • Has anyone tried Besivance for dry eye?

We are in the US from Australia for 4 weeks so that my wife can have two IPL treatments.
She has had the first treatment a couple of days ago and it is too soon to tell if it was beneficial.

But the doctor also suggested to Kathy that she should try Besivance for a few days to see if it helps. Kathy has been using Azithromycin ointment for the past 2 months. We cannot get Azasite in Australia so she is using the Azithromycin ointment instead.

Now the US doctor is suggesting using Bezivance in place of the Azithromycin. He said that "he has had some good results with Besivance".
There is very little I can see on the Dry Eye Zone about Besivamce.
So I was wondering if anyone knew anything about it or had used it.

The drug Besivance is a steroid so it should provide some immediate relief, but cannot be used long term. She will most likely feel some comfort and reduction in inflammation for the short term. I am assuming she has gland disfunction??

Yes Kathy has MGD. Are you sure Besivance is a steroid?
Kathy is already using steroid drops and the doctor does not want her to stop these. He wants her to use Besivance in place of Azithromycin ointment.
The Besivance leaflet says it a topical ophthalmuc antibacterual.
