    Patrick,
I had it done at an eye practice outside philly. The doctor was toyos trained. My glands were badly clogged and you're right, it's really just a way of heating the glands and liquifying mebium so it can be expressed. My glands were so bad, no amount of warm compresses (which I did for months, to no avail, was going to help) . I'm better in that I get by with restasis 2x a day and retaine mgd 3 or 4 times a day and some days are better than others. I have rosacea too and saag is right, you need to try to eat well and take care of yourself. I know it's an out of pocket expense and IPl takes time-it's a month between each treatment and I had 4 before things got better. Lipiflow was just not available around here the way it is now. I think either one of these might be worth looking into. Hang on, things can get better. PM me if you want.

So many of us have been suicidal. Makes you wonder 1) why Lasik is still so common (though I never had it) and 2) how it is possible that effective treatment for dry eye is so difficult to find.

If your mg's are plugged, I would recommend probing. Burning is usually a sign of evaporative dry eye - poor meibum. But with Lasik, when the nerves are cut, the blink feedback loop is interrupted and you need to find a way to preserve your tears, via plugs or cautery, so that the surface of your eye can become healthy. With cautery, I'd recommend the reversible kind, so that when you start producing tears again, the punta can be re-opened.

Patrick, you will find help and you will feel better, but only if you keep at it. Everyone here is here to help. PM me too, we can talk via phone.
