  • Question: Prescription drops to improve night vision?

It's been suggested by a medical professional that I try a prescription eye drop at night to constrict my pupils to reduce light scatter caused by corneal scarring.

Has anyone any experience with this?

The drug is used by glaucoma patients. I don't have glaucoma so this would be an off label use.

I'm especially interested in preservative free formula if one exists. I'm not able to drive at night due to the light scatter, halos, and glare.

    Thanks for your thoughts.

    Sclerals may do the same.

Thanks, Tanner, for suggesting sclerals. I'm in the long process of being fitted for sclerals and unfortunately, there's no reduction in the night vision.
I understood the liquid in the scleral reservoirs would "fill in" the irregularities on the surface of the cornea and this would greatly improve my night vision. This didn't happen, prompting the suggestion for using a drug to close down the pupil at night. So, just wondering.
Thanks for your reply and suggestion!
