  • Azyter regime for children with ocular rosacea and unresolved blepharitis

    http://www.joii-journal.com/content/3/1/38/abstract
Serge Doan and team publish an Azyter (azithromycin 1.5%) + lid hygiene regime for clearing unresolved blepharitis in ocular rosacea. Out of 16 children, 6 reported eye irritation and 2 had to withdraw.

See how they used it though - 2/day for 3 days every 10 days at first, then every 15 days, then once a month. Only one needed cyclosporine in addition to control inflammation.

Here's some findings from Nashville on increased Staphylococcus epidermis found in the eye 'The percentage of S epidermidis isolated from the conjunctival surface significantly increases after repeated exposure to azithromycin and to a lesser degree fluoroquinolone antibiotics at the expense of other commensal flora' after regimes of 4 different antibacterials http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23415422
