My doctor kinda just told me to do hot compress, eye lid scrubs, and eye drops. I was wondering what time of day I should be doing this stuff. Usually I wake up, do a warm compress, use eye drops right after the compress. Then during the middle of the day, I use eye drops again(no compress this time). Near night time before I shower, I do the eye lid scrub, then take a shower right after. Before sleeping, I do another compress and eye drops right after. I'm wondering am I supposed to use the eye drops right after the compress?

For the Latkany method of dry eye spa you do the heat mask for a few min, then express, then eye drops to wash away. I guess anytime of the day would be fine. If you work in the am you might want to do the process at night as it makes your eyes redder in the short-term.

Dr. Latkany wrote a book called "The cure to dry eye" or something like that, and in it he explains how to do his "eye spa". He believes regular expressions can help MGD. So the basics of the eye spa you can search for on DEZ. Basically heat, pressing a qtip to the edge of your lash line to get the oil to come out of the clogged MB glands, then rinse away the thick oil with non preserve drops. You will probably have to do this forever if you have MGD as it is a chronic condition.

the MB glands are right behind the lashes on the bottom lid. On the top they are in front, on the rim of the lid. Heat comes from a "rice baggie" or heat pad or hot rag. I don't do this step because for me and some others heat makes things worse. After a few min of heat, take your q-tip and press right below the lid margin.
