  • pets and dry eye

Hi, wondering if any of you have any pets and if it makes your eyes worse.
I had to take my mom's 2 cats to live with me and I think my eyes are worse. They are burning more and I think it is due to the cat hair. Any advice would be appreciated.

I have always had cats, but have only had DES diagnosed for about 9 months. I just got a new puppy, no change in the DES. It might be an allergy to the cats that is setting your eyes off. Allergies can certainly make the DES feel worse.
Every day with DES is like a box of chocolates...You never know what you're going to get.

So if allergies (pet related or not) cause a worsening dry eye symptoms, is it better for us to take an antihistamine or not???
I stopped Zyrtec a few days ago and I my allergies got worse, I wonder if I'm helping my eyes by stopping antihistamines....?
