  • Why do my eyes not feel tired or sleepy anymore?

I've been experiencing this weird sensation since July. It seems as if my eyes have lost the sensation to feel tired, sleepy, or drowsy. My eyes don't even feel tired after a long day or find it difficult to look at bright lights. I don't feel tired before going to sleep, or after waking up. Somehow I still manage to fall asleep for a few hours. It feels like my eyes are wide awake 24/7. It almost feels like I've never slept at all. This is really confusing and bothersome to me. I cannot really understand it. It's like I forgot what it feels like to feel tired. I never had any sleeping problem or disorder before this happened. Is this somehow related to dry eye? I don't experience the burning, itchiness, lack of tears or grittiness symptoms that tend to come along with dry eye. I noticed my eyes feel a bit drier at night but nothing too troublesome. I came to this forum wondering if anyone else has experienced this sensation? I don't think it's insomnia either. I just don't seem to feel tired at any time of the day or night. Not even the next day. I'm sure even insomniacs feel tired after a day or two without sleep. Just wondering if this is all DUE to some sort of Type of dry eye?

I've felt tired for years, and one day discovered that I was not tired at all. My eyes felt tired, and so I felt tired all over. This went on for years until one day it was raining, the air was clean and my eyes didn't hurt. I'd only had six hours sleep, which for me is not a good thing, but I still felt fine. Why? Because my eyes didn't hurt. Not sure if this is the case for you or not. If your eyes are better, hurrah! I'd post a smiley, but they come up as torn images, so consider yourself smiled upon!
