djshah1983, I'm very sorry for you. But could you please describe where is exactly your pain ? And also what did you already try to reduce the pain? (I have no idea why my text is bold)

We are all very sorry to hear this. Have you got an ophthalmologist who can look after you? http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12532491

Hi, the pain is below the eyes , starting from nose and going towards the ear. Doctors are referring it as neuralgia. The pain is not reducing . I took omega3 capsules , it helps with dryness but the pain below increases and the nerves are stretching with the tissues below the eyes(don't know why). I have no other option but to stop the omega3 and deal with dryness. I have seen that as the nerve ending pain increases(probably pressure) I get water in my eyes but cant deal with the chronic pain. I red somewhere it is refereed to as pain from eye. Please help anybody to deal with such type of pain and what I need to do further, as I am depressed ,stretching my work by taking holidays.

Neurologists usually prescribe Neurotin or Lirica for such pain. Have you tried them? India has the best homeopathic schools in the world. One of them is Sankaran's.If I'd live in India I will see him.

If you haven't already, I'd look into the Dr. Perry Rosenthal's theories on neuropathic pain. He's got some great information out there you can share with your doctor that may be helpful. I'd second Irina's suggestion of seeing a neurologist. I don't think Dr. Rosenthal sees patients anymore, but I think he will share possible treatments that he has tried with varied success over the years with your doctor. Your symptoms align with many of those he describes and the pain may be originating from nerves in your brain stem vs. those in your eyes and orbits (which is why enlisting a neurologist may be helpful). As he says
In contrast to normal protective pain, neuropathic pain is a disease in its own right and oculofacial pain is one such disease characterized by various types of severe pain (often including photosensitivity) that are interpreted by patients as arising from the tissues above their neck and, in particular, their eyes and orbits.

The type of pain disease that I believe represents oculofacial pain is known as centralized pain. Although centralized pain originates in the brain’s pain system ‘wiring’ it is interpreted by patients as being generated in the tissues above their neck, especially eyes and orbits and often include disabling photosensitivity. In reality, the pain is projected to these tissues from the central nervous system rather than originating in them. In other words, the tissues from which the centralized pain are interpreted by patients as being the source is illusory. This explains the often striking disparity between the intensity of the pain and the appearance of its perceived origins.

Here is a link to a paper he published on this condition that he has termed Ocular Neuropathic Pain. http://www.bostoneyepain.org/wp-cont...06280-amen.pdf

His website, with more information and resources for other doctors is http://www.bostoneyepain.org/
