  • Night time is the worst - what else can I try?

I have tried so many things for overnight and nothing seems to be working.

I sleep with my eyes partially open - they open while I sleep and so masks don't work because they're not strong enough and if it's too tight then that's not good for the eyes. I've tried saran wrap under the mask and that didn't work. I use gel 2-3 times during the night and that's helps a little but not much. I can't use the goggles because I can't sleep on my back and sleeping on the side makes it very uncomfortable and it just moves around.

I'm at a loss, I don't know what else to try ... the tape works even less because of the gel. I did find that the saran wrap and mask helped a little but it doesn't seem to keep the moisture in. I'm aqueous deficient but I would have thought that it would help more than it is.

I'm in the exact same boat. Been trying to fix it for 5 years with no luck. Dr Latkany is coming out with a new product to help people close their eyes at night sometime in 2016 with Eye Eco. While I'm not optimistic it will work given that nothing has worked, it could be helpful for some people.

Hi Grant, I'm willing to try anything. I'm 47 and have been suffering for 15 years but the very worst of it began this past summer and no one seems to know why the sudden decline. Hopefully the specialist I'm seeing on Friday will have some answers but I'm not optimistic ...

I use a humidifier, saran wrap and during really bad times, gels or Celluvisc. It's still not great, and my dream is to have a refrigerator in my bedroom so I can keep my serum drops handy but I find if I'm really good about using the humidifier, saran wrap and drops, I do ok.

I tried the saran wrap and it didn't work. I have a humidifier right beside my bed and I don't notice a difference. I wonder if it depends on the type of dry eye a person has. I use Ocunox every night and that seems to help a little more than the lacrilube did. I use the drops day and night ...

I tried different types of night goggles and the only ones I can stand are the Onyx due to the fact that I can still sleep on my side and stomach with them. I've also tried eye bandaids but I could not get used to them. I aslo use a humidifier right above my bed. It makes a big difference in the winter.
