Right then, strap yourselves in for this one boys & girls!.
(Q). when anybody feels tired, what happens?.
(A). Your eyelids will feel heavy and you sleep.
(Q). What happens if you are inactive?.
(A). You sleep more, or feel like you need to sleep more.
Elderly or retired people sleep a lot, dont they? cos they do very little in the way of being active.
We all know that nobodys eyes produce tears when your asleep- the brain tells lacrimal glands not to. Upon awaking brain tells glands to strat producing. Thats why many dry eye patients report there eyelids sticking upon awaking.
Therefore, it stands to reason that someone who is active, is awake, wide awake, and brain tells lacrimal glands to produce at full.
Someone who's sat on there butt all day is a lot nearer to being asleep, and will nod off easier due to brain recognizing the inactivity & less production of tears..
Prior to dryeye syndrome you will remember on occasions feeling shatterd, and what happens? Brain instructs less tear production- and you can't keep your eyes open.. This is how you go to sleep.
Ok. Re-medication incl anti depressents, ANY that make you feel drowsy, then what's gonna happen?. And as for anti depressents, a main ingredient is sleep enticement, to enable the patient to sleep at night, unfortunatly it's a 24hr thing, and patient can expect to be knackerd most of the day, this manufactured tiredness will tell the brain of course to sleep, and in turn brain instructs lacrimal glands to slow down production- eyes feel tired = you sleep. This will be why people on anti depressents will report back claiming "my eyes feel a bit drier, i think?" ...(A) because your half asleep all day long...
I once posted on here- "is it just me, or does anyone else's eyes feel better everytime they eat someting?" at least one replied "yeah me also".
PART 2...
Food..... It's a great debate, X claims eat 'this, this or this' and eveyone comes back with "i make sure i eat this '_____' every day!.
Could it be as simple as, food (any) gives you a boost, wakes you up, weve all experienced that one. Brain feels wide awake temporarily then instructs lacrimal glands to respond accordingly.
Same goes for light exercise, how many have reported feeling better doing light exercise!!.
All your doing is telling your brain your awake and functioning.
......
Could we all have a neurological fault/problem here? Mixed/poor messaging from brain-to-lacrimal gland here?.
That i'll never know.
...........
Depression (chronic illness based).. Viscious circle..
Do you feel like doing exercise? No you certainly
do not.
Do you need the emergency medication so you can get to sleep.. Unfortunatly yes.
Are you constantly tired sometimes very.
Yup!.
Will 'light exercise' to feel awake, like going for a walk be beneficial? .
You are both the patient & the doctor, in gale force winds, or blazing sunshine, not a good idea.
Yoga is the answer!. So they say.
Have i took anti depressents? Yes... 4yrs.
Had to.
Would i reccomend against anti depressents?.
Most important decision i ever made. Life was unbearable without them. If you are as low as i was? Them you aint got a choice mister!.
They will get you in a much better place, you can expect one day to be off them, it's just the understanding what's going thats crucial.....
