I would also love to hear about this. Like Savino, I've heard about regeneration in good environments. And this article has been posted here before http://www.optometry.org.au/blog-new...eneration.aspx . I just wish that the article went in to detail about how to create that environment. I assume it is based around calming any inflammation and maintaining the flow of the glands that are working. Would be great to hear from anyone who's had any recovery of glands. I'm glad to hear that Savino has been in touch with someone who has experienced recovery.

Question for people with atrophic MGD

Hey - after being diagnosed with MGD about a year ago, i only had proper tests a few days ago to find out it was worse than i thought.

I've been reading a bit too much on the web... & guess i'm now petrified about it getting worse - is it likely to get worse? Will i start getting chronic pain in my eyes as i get older? (no pain at the moment, just discomfort/itching)

I'm 26, apparently have chronic allergic conjunctivitus which probably caused the mgd, in the meibography test i scored 33 in one eye, 41 in the other. Loads of glands missing & remaining glands pretty damaged. Have had one session of IPL.

Any others with atrophied glands? Has it got worse for you as you've got older? Or can a few damaged glands be preserved for a long time with modern treatments? Appreciate any positive words
