Hey everyone! Just wanted to share something I've found works for me.
First of all, I got LASIK done in December of 2011. I didn't have any problems with dry eyes before then. After the surgery, though, I used the preservative-free eye drops about once per day, sometimes as little as once per week.
I started taking the Dry Eye herbal capsules from Theralife immediately prior to and following the surgery. I continued to take it, and still take the same dosage as I always have, which is 4 capsules in the morning, and 4 capsules in the evening.
I was really unclear as to what effect it had on my dry eyes, since I had been taking it for the entire time since I got LASIK, but then I suddenly got a control group: I ran out of the capsules. I didn't have any, and it was going to be about a week before I got any more. I didn't think it would be a big deal, but then I realized my eyes felt much drier than before. I had to use the preservative-free eye drops 4 or 5 times per day! I went through one vial of eye drops in one day.
Then when I got the capsules and started taking them again, my eyes didn't feel so dry and I didn't have to use the eye drops so much any more. My friend, who got LASIK a few month after me, has also started taking them, and now she's taking them at a rate of two capsules, twice per day. I've tried reducing my dosage, but anything less than four capsules, twice daily results in dry eyes.
