Temperatures are getting around 100-105 degrees now and the family turns on the air conditioner 24/7. My eyes feel way drier now and I can't stand it. Even when I'm just sitting down doing nothing. My eyes get dry. I do compresses 10-15 minutes 3 times a day and put eye drops on after the compress every time. I don't know what else to do. I don't blame them though, it's really really hot and I don't want to make the whole family suffer because of me. What else can I do. I can say that my eyes are getting much better from the compresses when using the computer. I don't get the double vision problem anymore.

I despise the ac also! I too have noticed my eyes feel dryer now that it's on all the time at home. (Work is even worse) I used to be able to watch TV on good days without issue and now I can't even watch half an hour. Forget reading! . I guess it is time to invest in some MCs. I just ordered my first pair this week. I don't know if I can use a humidifier. I already live in a VERY humid city.

Anyhow, for you Peppermint, it might be useful to buy a cheap little device that measure the humidity level so you can check what your indoor humidity is like. Could be that while it's very humid outside, the indoor air that is making you suffer might be dry as can be. If it is, then a humidifier (or 2 or 3 or whatever it takes), could be the solution.
Anyhow, it's well worth it to fix your indoor environment so you can read or watch TV again! (work can be tougher, but I find that as long as my home environment is great for my eyes, I can tolerate more abuse to them at work).

Thank you, SAAG! I will look into that device! It will be great if it turns out I can use it at home and it'll help with the comfort level of my eyes. I guess the tradeoff to feeling better with the humidifier, is having terrible looking hair!
Whenever I'm heading into work, I'm secretly hoping that the air is broken! It's on so cold that it runs 24/7 and our windows don't even open. It's even on during the winter.
