  • Trip to America for Dry Eye Treatment

I'm planning a trip to America to get treatments that aren't available in Australia. In particular, I think Scleral Lenses would be helpful. I don't want to have the second-rate trial and error lenses available here. I would appreciate some help in planning the trip.

As far as I know, there is not much difference in the end result of either the Laserfit Lense or the EyePrintPro. In that case, I am going to see Dr Gemoules in Texas to get the Laserfit Lense, because it is significantly cheaper. Would anyone advise me to do differently?

Also, I'm considering trying Prokera. I have corneal ulcers, photophobia and eye inflammation, which it should help with, but I'm unsure whether the Prokera will have any lasting benefit for me. Can anyone help me figure this out? Is it worth spending the extra money to try it?

Is there anything else I should consider trying while over in the U.S., like a particular doctor I should see?

I can vouche for Dr Gemoules.

I saw him in August. He is a true master at what he does, and is passionate about it.

Unfortunatley, it seems my eyes cannot handle the lenses very well at this point. Dr G went above and beyond to try and resolve the issue.

Hey how was your trip to America?

Did you end up doing the Prokera procedure?
