With MGD and severe dry eye, if you were to get it under control, I understand you can "relapse." Does this relapse come on suddenly for no reason or does it have to be triggered by something? I just cant stand the fact of having to finally get better ( if I ever do, probably not ) and then wait in fear of it coming back. I'm haven't been to the doctor yet but I have an appointment on Friday. But I already know 100% that I have MGD and severe dry eye. I can see the little bumps on my eyelid. I'm just confused ( and very depressed) about this whole thing and I just need some answers. I'm only 17 by the way which just makes me feel worse.

Unfortunately, a lot of dry eye is not curable at this time. Most doctors often don't even know what causes it so you may have to try many treatments until you find something that gives you relief. There are certain causes of dry eye that can be successfully treated. For example, if you have an improper blink due you can perform blinking exercises to learn to blink properly, or if you have an incomplete blink you may be able to get surgery to correct it.
