  • Car Defrost

So I live in MN and as such I have to have the defrost going in my car pretty much any time I'm driving in the winter or the windshield will either fog up or freeze up. This is terrible on my dry eyes. Ever since it's gotten cold here my eyes have been feeling awful. I do the normal regimen of restasis and refresh but the defrost wrecks my eyes for the whole day to the point in which I have a strong foreign body sensation pretty much constantly. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do? Do I wear goggles or something when I'm driving?

Same problem here. I use moisture chamber glasses. It's still a tough environment but it helps a lot. The glasses fog up faster than the windshield though until the car warms up. To fix I take them off and set them on the dash so the defrost blows in them. If my eyes are in a real sensitive state, I'll have two pairs of glasses I rotate on and off. Scleral lenses help me in that situation too but I have limited wear times so I try not to wear them as I drive into work.

Yep, goggle glasses. It's horrible and you are trapped and whoops, can't close those eyes!
