  • Why does anxiety and social interaction trigger MGD?

My MGD is always triggered, it's always there. But, when I am having bad anxiety it gets way worse. Or when I am talking to people the discomfort deepens immensely. I have social anxiety. In social situations my muscles tense up. Maybe that is why. I've pretty much avoided all social interaction the past few years. It's no way to live life....

When I get nervous or anxious, my eyes get "hot" like a rosacea flare. Do you have rosacea? Stress seems to trigger a lot of diseases, not just MGD. What are you using to treat your MGD?

My eyes get extremely gritty. Like there is sandpaper in my eye. It's awful. I use a facial steamer and than ocusoft lid scrub as well as fish oil and hydroeye. And eye drops.

It's getting worse everyday. Obviously this regimen isn't working.
