Conjunctivitis - how long does it take?

Hey, I'm taking steroid drops now for my conjunctivitis. Does anyone how long it takes for the conjunctiva to heal? My worst symptoms like burning are gone for the most part of the day, but still sometimes it flares up again. I'm taking the drops since friday and got drops left until tuesday evening.

Turns out steroid drops also don't give full relief of the burning. Correct me if I'm wrong but that's like the biggest gun you could pull? Doc says my eyes look great now..why do they feel like **** then??
