How often to people have follow up appointments? With your dry eye specialist? I had my last appointment 2 weeks ago. I was have a good dry eye day at the time. Despite having a terrible flare up on holiday that took just under a week for my vision to return to normal due to the hot climate etc. I was 6 weeks after lower plugs were inserted at the time. These last 2 weeks my eyes have been really bad again through. I am thinking of going back to discuss this and other treatment options. Any one else find them self going back for appointments often. Was told to come back in 2 months unless things got worse.

Was it a private consultant you saw? If so, I'd say go back now if you feel things are still bad/have got worse. Or perhaps could you speak to or email the consultant (probably via their secretary) to discuss things and see what they think.
I assume a 2-3month follow-up is the standard (privately at least - not sure about NHS) unless things worse and/or the consultant feels you need to be seen sooner for whatever reason. I was told (by my private opthalmologist) to have a follow-up in 2-3 months.
NHS: not sure how things are nowadays. Also suspect it depends on where you live. I was seen at Moorfields 3-4 years ago. Had follow-ups every 3-4 months. Things might be different now. My local NHS opthalmology has a 6 month waiting list just for initial appointments. Not been seen by them yet so not sure how long they make you wait for a follow-up.
