  • Preservatives in face wipes cause misdiagnosed skin rashes in children

Skin rashes in children linked to preservative in Wet Wipes, Larry Hand, Medscape Medical News, 13 Jan 2014. Just so we know what can happen.

'A preservative used in some popular wet wipes may be leading to significant eczematous dermatitis in children, according to a case report published online January 13 in Pediatrics. Physicians may be misdiagnosing these cases as other skin disorders.'

It's funny because the wet ones say "for hand and FACE" .. I guess people can develop problems to anything that goes on the face that is unnatural! Thanks for posting this though good to know also glad to hear your daughter is a little better through diet. I'm also being very healthy lately and am starting to like myself again.

Further to my comment I realise they are targeted at babies and children but the product info says they can be used for adults, although they also make I-Soothe for adults which can help remove make up as well. I want to try them as they may be a bit gentler than all the wipes and cleansers I've tried i.e Lid-Care, Supranettes, OcuSoft, SteriLid and Blephasol. I like that they suggest to warm them in water for a warm compress.
