mbperso - Just read about you in http://forum.dryeyezone.com/forum/dr...-post-lipiflow - Glad you found some relief..! Just had my second E-IPL done and expression ( only lower lid) - My first day after the treatment was horrible but im doing better now. Any way wanted to ask you about the foreign feeling you had. Was it a constant feeling and how did it occur? I tried using allergic drops but maybe i didt use them for a long enough time... Between the burning and gritty /foreign sensation i have in my left eye im afraid my oil glands are just not working properly in my left eye. I live in Denmark and apparently its impossible to get a meibography /lipiview done any where so i will not know. i was just checked for demodex but that can be done in a not thorough enough way? In the other thread you mentioned something about some doctors not seeing it ? I have a lot of extra dandruff on the left eye

        Adish ,
        Hi,
Yes it was a constant foreign feeling 24/24h and at the same place. I don't know how, but it occurred after I received a blow of wind and I felt suddently a sharp pain in one eye.
Maybe I had something that hurts the eyelid, maybe it was allergic, maybe my MGD was border line,
What is sure, only one doc saw the irritation in the eyelid while others specialists could not see it.

I think you could try allergic drops for 1 month.
Try to find a good doctor who can look for an irritation in the eyelid=> That means it is a lack of oil.
Try finding a meibography. This is very important, else Doctor must know how evaluate the glands and oil.

Demodex: to confirm the diagnosis you can have a parasitology analysis of the eyelashes.
Some docs who I visited believe that the only way to identify Demodex is the lashes analysis, but it is wrong. It is possible to see them on the slit lamp.
Manually the doc has to pull a lash round in a full circle for 2 minutes. Because this movement makes Demodex to come out the gland.
The shaft of the lash has a slate-like texture, moving the hair acts like a geared pump that forces Demodex upwards and out.
Cylindrical dandruff is pathognomic for Demodex. Often it is itching sensation.
You do need eyelid hygiene and scrub with TTO twice a day for 6 weeks. (2 cycles of 18 days)

mbperso - Again thx for taking the time <3 Okay how many times a day did you take allergic drops? Lomudal is the standard here, what did you use? Its probably not gonna help since the feeling is not constant and the irritation/(pain comes at different strength and even different places in the eye .. But i should try it any way. Honestly I think I would have to travel to another country to get it done, but can I honestely say i wanna get better if im not doing everything possible ehehe.. So i just read about Slit lamp exam - sounds like a thing my eye doctor did. He is supposed to be the best in Denmark specializing in dry eyes. Just so weird he dosent have the instrument for a meibography. A next IPL appointment I will ask him Specifically about demodex and ask him to pull a lash like you described.. For now I have no idea what to do, just started using castor oil before bed and a couple times a day. So far doing nothing, still so much pain :/

            Adish ,

I used Cromedil that contains cromoglicic acid. 4 times a day for one month. Now I use only one drop morning and evening to prevent, according to my feeling.
Indeed your feeling is different, usually the irritation is always at the same place.
For info Doxycycline reduced the pain but didn't eliminate it.

Surprising that you couldn't have a meibography. Did you ask all the hospitals ?
That's worth it traveling. Here is the list of countries to do Lipiview: https://dryeyeandmgd.com/find-a-doctor/

Treatment for Demodex is Cliradex wipes or 50% of TTO at the eyelashes base, twice a day for 6 weeks. You can use a cotton tip or compress.
Cliradex has 4% terpinen4ol that is equivalent to 25% of TTO.

mbperso well damn. Drops are not gonna help then i guess. I rather not wanna start on the allergy drops since they dry out the eye:/ Im working on getting the meibography made in Denmark but so far no one have been able to do it. Im def starting the TTO treatment, i have an itching but only somtimes tho. Just read an article where + 90 % of a study group had demodex mites when they had both anterior and posterior blepharitis like me .. Just gotta make sure and then I can untap that box aswell!
