    I use: preservative & lanolin-free ointment plus a sleep mask - this one - http://www.dryeyeshop.com/escape-sleep-mask-p190.aspx I love it.

(Both Tranquileyes & the Onyx goggles irritate the skin around my eyes so I can't use either anymore.)

Thank you for your reply about Nocturnal Lagophthalmos

What brand of ointment do you use? I have every type of goggle including the one you use and it doesn't keep out enough of the air/oxygen.

GenTeal PM Lubricant Eye Ointment (not the gel). I use a lot more then the 1/4 inch they recommend on the box though - that does nothing for me. I use a big blob and it stays in my eyes all night with the mask. It's 11:00 am here now and I haven't used any drops yet because I still have ointment residue lubricating my eyes. (I put the ointment in at 10:30 pm last night.)

For me, what I have found is that the ointments irritates my eyes more than they help, and I've tried all brands. Using a lot of ointment tends to make my eyes blurry, into the day. It's all a double edge sword. This is a huge problem to overcome and to find the right combination of things to get it in control, and to find out the origin. For me, it's about my eyes not closing all the way (blinking properly), not staying closed at night, and improper tear constitution. I also think that the more your eyes are exposed to artificial tears, ointment Restasis, gel, etc, the more this hinders natural tear constitution.
