Just curious to see if I'm the only one and if someone else has 3 glands are less I'm curious as to what your symptoms are in that eye.

I hope you got an actual LipiScan or other scan and not just a subjective assessment about the number of functioning glands.

Yes I did. I have like 3 half glands in left eye and 6 in right.

I don't know where you live but if it is possible I would seriously consider seeking out treatment with Dr Lora Cremers in DC/Boston or someone else who does PRP injections into the glands. She is on the cutting edge of MGD research and her results are promising. You can study her blog but here are a few posts that you may find interesting. .

Thank you farmgirl. That's very interesting. I will look more into that.

My LipiView test proved to be totally false. It showed 4 glands working glands in the right and 2 in the left. I still didn't go through with Lipiflow. Just had IPL last week and the doctor said at least 10 working glands in both eyes.

IPL is the only treatment I have not done. Its just so expensive. Did you get relief from IPL? Heres a picture I found online of what my left eye looks like.

I'm 28. I'm rarely on a computer. Doctors have no idea why my glands are that atrophied. I think contacts played a big role. I used to sleep in them all the time. I wouldn't wash my hands when I put them in or took em out. I was irresponsible with them.

I've only had one IPL treatment so it's hard to say if it's helped. I think I'll need about three. There are multiple threads on this site for getting a perspective in IPL. Mine cost $400.

Gosh that is very sad, I hope you find some help. Did you play a lot of video games as a kid?

I think PRP would be a good start (one eye at a time) if you can get it, even though Pythonidler has reported problems.

I tried the meibomian gland PRP injections last week. I don't have extensive gland loss but I do have some. I posted a new topic to share my results. I go back at the end of March so we'll see.
