I do find it strange to indeed, but to be honest this has been my experience with eye doctors for the past two years: the more doctors you see, the more pieces and bits of info you get.
My dr did not mention Telangectasia.
I definitely have advance MGD and evoraporative dry eye. I produce close to no oil.

    Hi phenix
that is strange. I recall you have visited many doctors and now finally one said you have rosacea?
Did dr say you have Telangectasia lid margins?
What other tests have you done?

IPL - According to opinion leader, Professor Preeya Gupta (from USA)
    most successful for patients with
advanced MGD, (mild to serve) evaporative DED
    Rosacea or Seborrheic Dermatitis
    Telangectasia lid margins
    a non-laser light source
    suitable for almost any patient
(Dr Toyos, 1st dr who applied IPL to treat dry eye, mentioned in one of his videos that there is NEW model which suits for (almost) all skin types, I recalled)

Xiidra did nothing for me or if it did it was not noticeable. I am on Restasis right now.

    Have you tried serum drop?
I got prescription for serum drop. You should try that too.

IPL and serum are my last hopes to get better.

I clearly have rosacea as I also have rashes on my face.
They told me I will not see any improvement until the second or third IPL treatment, if I am going to see any at all.

The expression after IPL is tough. You may need to rest a few days. Saturday was the worse but I still feel that I do not have any tears in my eyes. My gland were like toothpaste. Whenever the doctors do expression my gland are like toothpaste.

I have darker skin and they told me I might not see much benefit from IPL as others with light skin. Depending on your skin color they can increase the intensity of IPL.

So I get enough aqueous tears but my meobomian glands barely send oil ot my eyes. My eyelids are inflamed and for the first time I got diagnosed with rosacea on my lids. I dont have rosacea on my face, but apparently my lids do, so I got this chronic condition of rosacea on the lids which continuously trigger lid inflammation, which prveent oil glands from functioning properly.

Dr mentioned IPL which could help but it is still not available in Canada. I feel back to square 1, this is depressing.
I am living in Canada and had IPL on Saturday. Which city are you lining in?
    I am in Calgary

I found the probing itself very tolerable, it stings a bit at time but only mildly. The expression after can be painful but usually doesnt last long. That's only my experience though.

I’ve had probing several times, by two different doctors, and I found the procedure VERY uncomfortable. One of my doctors even gave me numbing shots to help with the discomfort, which did help some, but those shots were just as uncomfortable, and they have to give several shots around each eye. Perhaps I experienced more discomfort than phenix01 because I also had gland expression as part of the procedure, and also many glands with stubborn scar tissue, so more force was needed. Phenix01, you were fortunate, or have a high tolerance for pain :-)

The probings did not cause any negative changes to the physical appearance of my eyes. However, not a lot is known about the impact to the glands in the long run, such as probing itself causing more scar tissue, damaging the gland structure, etc. Because of this, even though probing was ultimately a key step in my probing+diet change+sclerals resolution, I’d still recommend doing less invasive procedures first, and if those don’t work to open glands, then try probing. Unless your eye doctor is able to tell right off the bat you have scar tissue...then only probing can unblock that.

Hi, the procedure doesnt hurt. Eyelids look no different. I am not sure what are the cons. Will PM you the Dr.
