I've had this years ago and am now suffering all over again. Excessive tearing in left eye..eyelid looks swollen and sometimes droops or looks like it has sprung up. Went to 2 different drs already. Have been put on Keflex ( oral antibiotic) for 10 days, polytrim drops 3x a day, warm compresses, artificial tears, puralube at night..and last week started tobradex drops 3x a day ( discontinued polytrim) and eye felt better but tearing persisted and eyelid looks more swollen. 2nd doctor ( ocuplastic surgeon/lid specialist) irrigated tear duct to see if it was blocked but I felt the water immediately in my throat. Don't know if I will continue with him. Have new appt. this monday with an ophthalmologist that deals with dry eye. ( HAD LASIK in 2001).
Can anyone explain why my lid springs up ? it looks large and then my eye looks half closed. Is it because my tears are not lubricated the eye and the lid sticks to the eyeball?
ALso years ago had my ducts cauterized and this immediately stopped the tearing. SOOOO Confused and depressed.
