  • Good Nighttime Gel Drop?

Hey guys, can anyone recommend a good nonpreservative gel drop to use at nighttime that won't block the meibomian glands?

Refresh Celluvisc seems to work well for many people.
I've been using it for a bit and I like it better than other gel drops I've tried in the past.

Refresh Celluvisc is definitely a popular gel drop. If for some reason you have an intolerance to Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium (CMC) like I do, Systane Ultra is another thicker drop option.

I also used Genteal Severe Dry Eye Gel at night when my eyes were severely dry, along with wearing night goggles like EyeSeals 4.0 to keep out the air. The Genteal Gel is supposed to be preservative-free once in the eyes, but some people have developed an allergic reaction after using it for a longer period and/or overuse. I used it for several years day and night sparingly, and don't think I could have made it through those unbearably dry years without it. I found it very soothing more than anything else, and it's not as thick as the night time ointments.

Using a foaming lid scrub day and night like Ocusoft Plus Lid Scrub Foam, can help keep the meibomian glands clean.
