Bumping this. So I'm seeing an ophthalmologist in 10 days and I can't wait. Funny enough, it so happens that my mother had this doctor open up her tear ducts (because she had the opposite problem from what I have...)

Anyway, I was doing great for 2 weeks and now it's starting again only a few days after I ran out of Muro 128 and replaced it with Refresh's Lacri-lube for overnight... Muro 128 ointment is backordered everywhere and I'm pretty sure that particular medication is tremendously useful to me. My pharmacy previously said it would be available on June 27th and now their ETA is July 4th and the pharmacist mentioned that those dates are sometimes just placeholders and are meaningless. Does any one know of any way to get Muro 128 ointment?

Muro was recalled, that is why you can't get it. Sorry I usually look up and post all the batch details and known/unknowns of recalls but haven't had a chance to on this one. I'd go for a generic in the meantime... look for sodium chloride ointment. Most drugstores have one. I've got sochlor in the dry eye shop for those who can't get something comparable locally.

Thanks Rebecca, I'll check my local pharmacy but I've looked at what's available at my local pharmacy and there really isn't much. There's Refresh's lacri-lube and that's not quite the right thing.

Edit: Yep, there's nothing there. Does recalled in this case mean it won't be available again or does it mean they'll eventually released a fixed batch that I can hopefully get locally? x_x

What I did when I was experimenting to see if Lagopthalmos was a contributor to my problems was to pack a damp gauze inside of the sleep goggles with enough pressure on the lids to keep them closed. It seemed to work enough to determine that was not part of my problem. You might try that...good luck....F/G
