  • Anyone Know Why

I had lipiflow about 2 months ago and don't feel any better at all...maybe worse. Saw my doctor yesterday and she said some of my glands weren't as blocked and were excreting a clear fluid. So if my glands have improved why are my eyes still so dry? She did the test where they see if you're making tears and I make a lot.She seemed concerned enough to prescribe autologous serum eyedrops and I hope they help.

hmmm, that is so interesting. Wish my tear test came back that I was making alot of tears maybe the lipiflow just irritated your eyes but also helped them...? So do your eyes feel better now?

It's frustrating when "better" clinically does not translate into "feeling better"... yet, clinical improvement IS important and what you posted is such a great reminder about how important it is to have someone evaluating what, specifically, those glands are doing - because that alone can tell us if treatments are actually effective for us in the long term. Do you know your before/after TBUT by chance?

Hi ...I don't really think the lipiflow irritated things, I think it's that my blepharitis has gotten worse and it's making my eyes feel drier and stingier. My doctor said she would look into having azasite compounded or perhaps give me a script to take to the states to have filled. Maybe that will help

Hi Rebecca..no I never had a test for TBUT I don't think. The only numbers I was ever given were from my lipiview test which were 56 and 63. Next time I see her I will ask about it
