I still have a red vein in my left eye that bugs me and a couple small ones in my right.

My issues started with visine to. I used it for years, 1-2 times a day. My eyes never hurt until I stopped using it. I am unsure if this was the main cause or not. It took years for the rebound to settle but it did get better. Those drops are toxic and ruin the tear film. I hate myself everyday for using them. Over time the redness will go away. It takes a while for the eye to be without it. The eye gets addicted. Steroids helped at first but I think it really just took time and a CLEAN diet but YOU WILL get there

Katewest - I have the mother of all veins in my right eye - it goes all the way across my eye. I actually think I was depressed for a whole week just over that one vein.

LaDiva - hope your mum is ok.

Do any of you ladies juice?? I am trying to work out what the best veggies are to juice. So far everything I've made tastes revolting! I'm think garlic would be good. And carrots. Anything else?

Yeah mine sounds the same. It goes all they way across my left eye and sometimes looks ok and sometimes not.
I tried juicing but didn't really love it. The best recipe I've found is --celery, cucumber, carrots, green apple, parsley, kale, ginger, and lemon.

Thanks, DL. Mom is OK. I agree with Kate. I bought a bullet, and finding a great blend isn't easy. You've got to add fruit to make it decent, but I've not gotten the mix right yet. The last batch contained raw broccoli, and that was definitely not good!

Very unscientific source, but thought it was interesting as my eyes have gotten worse in the last two months. I have given up eating bread for the past four months - may be a link...

Hi All, The worst thing about dry eye for me is the large squiggly vein that goes from the inner corner of my eye to the iris. I private messaged a few of you -- if it sent twice that is because of a hiccup in the system :-/ Sorry about that. If any of you want to work together on solving it, just pm me. J

I wish I could say that diet worked for me. I'm sure that some things make it worse but I went gluten-free, nut-free, and dairy-free for 3 months and no improvement. I haven't managed to cut out all sugar but for the most part, I eat a very low-sugar diet. The diet I'd like to try is nightshade free but it's incredibly difficult for me, although I did manage to cut them out for about 1 month and have lowered my consumption, to no affect. If diet works for you, it's definitely worth the life changes, though.
