  • Moisture Chamber Glasses

    Hi Everyone,

I bought my first pair of moisture chamber glasses last week. They are Ziena Verona model. I love the way they look and am excited to have them as additional protection for my eyes. My question is how do I know if they are a good fit? As far as regular glasses they fit fine, the cup surrounds my eye fine. However, am i supposed to feel it suction or tight against my face (which I dont)? How do I know if they are/are not a good fit for me? I consider myself more of an oval shaped head shape, is there any other brand which may be better suited? Thank you.

Personally, I would just wear them in a rough condition and see if they perform. For exampl, step outside on a windy day and see if it offers enough protection. I'm not sure how bad your eyes are, I can personally get a corneal erosion very fast in a windy environment, so use caution of course. But I'd want to see if they worked...I guess the way they sit on your face is irrelevant if they do the job right? I personally need a seal around my face. It can't just be close or barely touching my face. Curious how they work out for you.

HI Dowork- Thanks for the advice. I will try that today. My eyes have improved so I can stand most environments ok. I wanted the glasses for extra protection against the air conditioning and heat when I am home. May I ask what brand you use?

I like mine to touch my face particularly across the forehead but they don't suction. They don't seal tight like a motorcycle goggle for example but I find that if you are in the wind and you feel air whistling in from the top then they are not preforming. In the house it is not so critical, mostly you are trying to minimize evaporation and protect from air movement from furnaces or AC or just air movement when you are walking.

Wear your moisture chambers outdoors on a cool, still day. If they fog inside, then you have a beneficial moisture to seal ratio.
