Anyone heard of or tried this?

Looks like a potential safer and easier way to thin and loosen meibomiam gland secretions.

Have not heard of that yet but sounds like a great addition to day to day routine.
Another thing I've recently heard of from a local doc is radio frequency treatment. I will post more when I hear from them. I think it is this type of thing (Youtube video).

So I am confused. She states "I do not think there is any harm in using this machine on the eyelid skin. Studies below suggest it might be even safe to use it over the eye though more studies are needed."

So tell me how can you use it to melt the oils in the glands without using it over the eye? Last I checked my lids, which contain the glands, ARE over the eye.

        Hi Hopeful_hiker
Thanks for sharing that interesting radio frequency machine.

She said it may melt the secretions through cavitation. Had to look that word up but basically she is saying that gas bubbles are produced in the meibum and that creates pressure to melt the oil. At least that's how I understood it.

I think you use this around the lids, just as you'd use it to reduce wrinkles. I'm assuming the vibrations would penetrate even if it weren't directly over the lid...I really want to buy this thing and see. But it's been used on 3 people, I'd have to be sure it was safe. Could you imagine though...doing this at home and being effective for 280 bucks!

I bought the wand. I use it sometimes when im listening to audiobooks.

Hard to say any result or not. I had IPL a few days ago and that has helped a lot. Which is very encouraging that even the first treatment has me feeling great.

Previous to the IPL I had been using it semi-regularly and my glands still were blocked up.

It may have its place in the tool belt.

At this point i do warm compress 4 times a day plus a wand use. Then warm bath in the evening. Im a full time eye disease sufferer.

Great you and farmgirl are having success with IPL. Has me hopeful about the future, having other options is nice.

So glad to hear the IPL has helped you! I’ll need to think more about getting it. Keep us posted on your progress, ditto with the wand.
