I have noticed that vacuuum cleaners blow air out and this dries my eyes out so I have been asking other family members to vacuum for me. Our vacuum cleaner just broke and it is time to get a new one. Aside from wearing goggles while vacuuming, I was wondering if anyone had found using a canister vacuum is better for not blowing out air in your face than an upright and if anyone had a particular vacuum cleaner that works well for them. I also have severe allergies and need all of the HEPA filters, dust mite trappers etc that I can get. Any advice or suggestions on vacuuming and cleaning when you have dry eyes/allergies would be welcome.

I have a Dyson, they are super expensive in my opinion, but I don't really notice that vacuuming makes my eyes upset. I have watched some of the infommercials about the shark navigator and lift away, I am planning on buying one of these models next time. they have the same sealed system as the Dyson, for at least half the money. Good luck.

Thank you Mawsky, I bought the Kenmore Progressive canister that was recommended by both Consumer Reports and the Allergy and Asthma Foundation of America. So far having the vacuum exhaust behind me on the canister has been very helpful. I appreciate your help!
