Azasite Shortage?

Many compounding pharmacies do not do eye drops, they need to have the right equipment, approvals, etc. People’s Custom RX in Tennessee has this list online of all the ophthalmic drops they compound, including PF Azithromycin. Looks like they will also ship using FedEx and UPS.

I called this pharmacy and they told me they no longer do Azithromycin eyedrops compounding. They also do not deliver to Virginia. They only deliver to 3 surrounding states. Oh well.....

So I finally went in and got a prescription for Azasite to help my MGD and inflamed eyelids. When I went to fill the script, no pharmacy had any, and they said it was back ordered indefinitely. No one knows when it will be available again - I even called the company that makes it. I did manage to find one bottle a CVS had left in their refrigerator - the only bottle for miles around - liquid gold. So I took it. But I'm not sure if it will be enough for my 2-4 week program. How many drops are in a bottle? Anyone know?

I know it says on the bottle it only lasts for a few weeks but I have been using it for about 10 years now and one bottle last me about a year and a half at a time. I use one tiny drop on each bottom eyelid every 3 days.
