Where can I find an answer to the following question re: Accurate Eyelid Diagnostics:
When faced with inflamed eyelids, do the top eye doctors know how to discriminate between the type of inflammation caused by mites (etc.)
versus:
...the type of inflammation caused by radiation - including prolonged exposure to UV?
......(the latter would I imagine be similar to skin subjected to autoimmune-allergic-inflammations
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Reason I ask:
Long ago, in Sweden, Bjorn Lagerholm, histopathologist at Karolinska Skin Clinic, noted changes in the skin of long-term VDU users (video-display unit). Those changes were usually associated with Xrays, radiation or outdoorsmen exposed to decades of UV. When his 1986 article caused a wave of fright, Swedish authorities and "tech experts" claimed that there's no dangerous radiation from computer screens.
When a TCO survey was conducted, with results indicating that 2x as many VDU users experienced burning & irritation as control group, Sture Liden & Mats Berg told the media it was "psychosomatic". There was also an odd disappearance of many skin samples which would have been evidence for the survey.
Liden also instructed the departments of occupational medicine to "advise" patients that research had not revealed hazards and that at most, some people may get:
Acne Rosacea... [ha ha]
So methinks - what's the difference between Misdiagnosing a burn as "Rosacea"
........and Misdiagnosing a burn as "Blepharitis"????
Later Lagerholm retired, and declined an invitation from the Swedish Med.Association, though he did send them a note listing analyses of formations in skin proving them unrelated to Acne Rosacea. For example: Increased vessels and mast cells which are associated with allergies & inflammation, and which release histamine.
