  • NAC N-Acetyl Cysteine for MGD

    Hi all

I have had MGD/posterior blepharitis for a long time. I have been doing all sorts over the last year to make them better.

The next thing I would like to try is NAC supplement with Vitamin C supplement. Everyone seems to take a different dosage of it per day and I was just wondering if anyone who has taken it or knows anything about it could advise me on how much to take per day and which brand of NAC would be best.

NAC always seems to come in a 600mg capsule which is quite annoying as its difficult to divide. I've read that some people break this down to 150mg 4 times per day and apparently you're mean to take 3 times as much Vitamin C as NAC. Would it be best to buy it in tablet rather than capsule form do you think?

I would really appreciate it if anyone could offer me some advice.

    Thanks

I have taken NAC 1000mg a day for almost a year but I noticed no real change.

I'm taking 500mg of it, for about 4 months, and I didn't notice change either.
