Can I take doxy between IPL sessions?

I've been told not to take doxy a week before IPL. If I am then waiting another three weeks for the next session can I take it for two weeks in-between.

I have had 3 IPL sessions so far at 3 week intervals, and was told to completely discontinue doxycycline until I have finished the complete course.
I have read somewhere that one week is safe, but I guess they just want to cover themselves just in case something goes wrong.
Antibiotics do make your skin photo sensitive, and if the IPL causes skin discolouration, this will be permanent/hard to get rid of.
Best to double check with the doctor?

Doxy *may* (not always) make your skin light sensitive. Doxy + IPL *may* (not always) cause sunburns. The probability of for Doxy+IPL side effects is unknown. Doxy has a half-life of 18 hours. Use your best judgement.
