I haven't been back here for a while. I ahve had dry eyes for about 6 years and found scleral lenses to help. Now I have been having other issues.
Went to a new doctor and have been diagnosed with partial Limbal Stem Cell deficiency. It's freaking me out a little.

Anyone else here dealing with this?? I am lucky to be living close enough to Duke to see some top notch doctors. Wondering if I should have started there to begin with.

I had never heard of this, so thank you for mentioning. Do the doctors think contact lenses caused yours? Not sclerals, but the soft lenses?

The article I read mentioned that that is one of the possible causes.

I never wore contacts before the sclerals and I have only had the sclerals for 2 years. I think I am being diagnosed with Sjogren's

I have the same diagnosis and have had Salzmann's nodules removed as well as pterygium. The superficial keratectomies have been helpful, but nodules keep returning-due to LSCD. My surgeon, who is amazing, is managing it well and my corrected vision is very good. I cannot, however, drive at night. I have been tested for Sjrogen's and was negative. Mine is just due to plain old bad luck. Wondering about other people's experiences with LSCD....
