  • Eye issues after Accutane

    Hi all,

I took Accutane about 15 years ago and have suffered constant issues with my eyes ever since(amongst other things).
I saw eye doctors initially but they always dismissed my claims of sensitive, dry, red eyes as being 'normal'.
I didn't know anything about MGD until discovering the forums here.
I found that if I pressed my eyelids together I could express a thick milky substance from the glands.
If I do this once a day(gently) I find it keeps the oils clear and I guess normal,an my eyes feel OK.
However if I do not do it for a few day - my eyes feel gritty and irritated and these oils becomes thick and white when next expressed.

    My question is:

    - Is it OK for me to keep manually squeezing my eyelids gently each night to maintain this clear oil flow?

    Cheers, Ben

Although I can't answer your question directly, I would say try taking NAC supplements as it will probably loosen your oil
