  • What 7 doctors thought was dry eye was actually convergence insufficiency.

Hello friends just wanted to help out someone out there that might have this stressful condition that gets mistaken for dry eye. After suffering a head injury early july of last year and didnt get symptoms till a month later in august i had extreme light sensitivity dry eyes blurry & double vision eye pain so bad i didnt care to live or die, going to about 8 eye doctors hospitals er everyone kept telling me i had dry eyes but something in me told me it had to be something more than dry eye i couldnt watch tv be on my phone reading was the worst the pain was unbearable i havent been out in months right now im off work 2nd time in less than a year it wasnt till i told my last doc which i told every single optometrist i had a head injury at work you think this dry eye might have somthing to do with it they all told me nahh it cant be is dry eye deal with it omega 3 eye drops and send me on my way, but this doc told me after sclerals didnt make a difference your a rare case i think you should see a neurologist somethings up then he called me all excited a day later i solved your case i talked to one of my eye doc friends that is a specialist in eyes and heaf injuries you have misaligned eyes from that head injury this optometrist I'm seeing right now diagnosed me with convergence insufficiency I'm going to have vision therapy which i started already just giving someone the heads up what you might have might not be dry eyes just misaligned eyes.

Wow that’s awesome I’m so happy for you that you’ve found out your problem, that’s so interesting never would have thought of that.
In regards to your meibomian glands, does that mean you always had oil that comes out and doctors just thought you had an aqueous water deficiency? Or did they find you had low oil quantity and that’s why they diagnosed you with dry eyes ??

I didn’t have dry eye either, I have an eyelid problem. Took me 7-8 doctors as well. A doctor doesn’t kmjwvwhat he/she doesn’t know. So it’s good you met with someone willing to think about your case differently. I’m happy for you and I hope the therapy gives you your life back.
